Ram 1500 Revolution Pickup Revealed As Chevy Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV Rival

The all-electric pickup wars are heating up, with GM fielding the Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV. Now, a new combatant is poised to enter the fray, with Stellantis unveiling the new Ram 1500 Revolution concept.

Recently debuting at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Ram 1500 Revolution pickup debuts a new look with a redesigned fascia treatment, as well as animated badging and full LED lighting for the “tuning fork” headlamp design. The truck also features a deleted the B-pillar, providing “grand saloon-style” doors for easier ingress and egress.

The Ram 1500 Revolution features an all-new interior layout as well, which is flexible and configurable to offer a workspace, a removable center console, and fold-flat surfaces. Another highlight of the cabin are the third-row jump seats, which are located on the power-operated mid-gate. The mid-gate also incorporates a removable lower section with a passthrough to accommodate objects up to 18 feet in length, stretching all the way into the frunk.

As for the power specs, the Ram 1500 Revolution Pickup is motivated by a pair of electric drive motors with all-wheel-drive capability, as well as four-wheel steering with upwards of 15 degrees of articulation for enhanced maneuverability. The onboard battery can juice up with as much as 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes thanks to 800-volt DC quick-charging capability up to 350 kW.

Under the body, the Ram 1500 Revolution Pickup rides on the STLA body-on-frame architecture, which was designed specifically for full-size EVs. The pickup also runs underbody aero panels and an active diffuser for streamlined aero and more range.

Stellantis states that the Ram 1500 Revolution will get a full-fledged production model in 2024, which is set to debut “in the coming months.” The automaker also claims that it will be a leader in the “areas customers car about the most: range, towing, payload and charge time.”

  1. Cool looking outside.

WTF?? That dash?? Give me a break. Does that 72″ TV flip up and down? If not, how do they expect you to see around it? Time to put the brakes on this moronic huge screen war.

  2. So they don’t even have a production model to show yet. Just CGI pics. Lol. So. Far. Behind.

    1. The Ram design makes the Silverado look twenty years old. If it all translated into a production model. It would definitely be a winner.

      1. It is a loser since Ford already has more than a year ahead in real sales. Stella’s should give up and save the money from investing in a future loss.

        1. Who wants a Ford when they tell you not to use the heater because it will use too much battery? Wtf?

      2. I thought the Silverado ev was ugly. My opinion has been greatly humbled.

        1. True. The Silverado EV is frumpy looking at best. This Ram truck is very sleek. The Chevy already looks outdated.

          Reply
      3. No, it doesn’t. It looks like a concept model of a vehicle that doesn’t exist in production form. Even their “built” version looks like it was thrown together by a customization shop, not a manufacture.

  3. Considering Ram has been claiming class leading, the information revealed seems to be a copy of the Sierra and Silverado. Along with many of the features.

The doors won’t make it to production. Design of the back tailgate and bumper also doesn’t seem very practical.

Overall they’re very late to the game. If it’s available in 2024, it’ll be late in the calendar year.

    1. Not the plan, like the cyber truck, this is mostly to amaze stock brokers and grab headlines.

Even then, it looks like it’s only achieved 50% of that goal.

Ram also hasn’t officially put the new hurricane motor in the 1500, and it seems per their production schedule that it won’t replace the hemi, just substitute it.

      1. The major difference there is that a production RAM Revolution is already finalized/finished. This is the concept model. If you live on planet earth you know Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram has been doing this forever. Even Wagoneer had a concept version months ahead of the actual trucks debut. Revolution is actually debuting a few months from now. Nice try though.

        Reply
        1. Actually, based on the delays that occurred with bringing the Wagoneer to market, the REV might be available come 2027/2028.

        2. This will never be in production. Not my fault your literally unaware of how much dodge and mopar sucks, SOOOOOOOOOOO

  4. Will people scream “Avalanche” because this has a mid-gate too or do they get a pass?

    Reply
    1. GM should have called the Silverado EV an Avalanche since that’s what it is.

      1. I agree the Silverado EV front looks ugly. It lease its not running around here with those time bomb engine.

        Reply
        1. It isn’t bad looking, but each has their preference. Some people think black wheels look good…

Time bomb engine because maybe 1% of them have a lifter issue? That is well with in tolerance of any brands having failures. Ford has engine failures, Toyota has had some major part failures internally in engines, Dodge has the same lifter failure. Doesn’t make them unreliable, they are still far more reliable than anything in the past. Go ahead and keep trying to spread false information, outside of our family that had one failure due to the bad batch, no one I knows with any of these engines with AFM has had an issue, and a couple have knocked on 300k.

  5. That steering wheel is kinda crazy I like body on it for the most part . I looks like the tailgate opens up like Honda Ridgeline .

  6. Is it a law that if you build an EV it has to be ugly?

    Reply
  7. With that low roof line, it’s not going to fit those cowboy hats in Longhorns state.

  8. Is it really a truck? Windshield raked too much. Where are the door handles? I want a real dash so a quick look down you know what is going on. I hope it is more concept than production.

    Reply
    1. Every truck has been raking the windshield more and more, that is better overall if they rake it.

Not a fan of hidden handles, I just don’t think they’d be reliable long term or even worse in inclement weather.

Somewhat same for the dash but all the info can be easily customizable to have it where you want it, so it is actually better for a quick glance to know what is going on; so that is a poor complaint. Not aesthetics or storage spaces I can see, but information here is much easier to get than a normal analog set up as you will be able to get other parameters not normally found in gauges.

      Reply
      1. More than likely, I believe that they will go with exterior door handles for the production version especially Base Trim variants, I overall like it; it shows that RAM is not complacent when it comes to the trucks design exterior styling .

  9. Well it looks like Ram took their time but came up with some amazing ideas, features, and Tech.
Even if only half make it to production this Truck makes the All New and Not Yet Released to the public GM Twin Trucks look somewhat outdated. It completely embarrasses the F-150 Lighting….makes the Ford look like it is from the 1990’s
Looks like Ram once again took their time and came out swinging!!!
Hate to say it but Congrats to the Ram team. Very intrigued to see what the Final Production version will actually be.

Side Note though….The upcoming Engine Generator version is an idiotic idea!!!

    Reply
    1. The generator is a fantastic idea, it quells the largest complaint you hear about, range, especially when towing. How they implement it will be key. Ford talked about a portable unit while Dodge is saying it will be built in. Either way, if I can run around on electricity most of the time but be ok in the back country or towing around the states with a generator, I would seriously consider a switch from ICE. I really think hybrid and PHEV are the say to go for a while and it seems the generator is a EV leaning set up for that.

  10. I’m a Chevy guy but this Ram looks pretty cool. I can see it dropped, with graphics and some neat rollers. In our industry, the automotive specialty aftermarket, there is a huge performance sector that probably won’t be that big with EVs. I think the big money will come from aesthetics. At least to get the non-smiling cars looking happy.

  11. That screen is way bigger than a Lap Top Computer Screen…not quite necessary.

  12. As someone that recently bought a TRX to daily drive, thank God I bought when I did. Yikes.

  13. I think if the manufacturers really want to sell EV’s, they should stop thinking they should making them all look like they came from a video game or sci-fi movie.
I’m fine with electrification but the designs are down right laughable along with the giant, distracting touch screens.

  14. This and the Chevy hold many similar traits.

The Ford was just a rush job till they get their platform truck ready. They are still working on it and it may be 3 years till it arrives.

I expect with these trucks they will try many new things because they can. What stick on the wall stays vs what falls off.

  15. I hate it. The look is so modern, I don’t want to go into the modern world where vehicles look like this one. I hate EVs. I guess some would be good or ok but how are you gonna charge your ev when there’s a catastrophic power outage. Where are all the bad batteries gonna go?, a landfill. We don’t even have the correct or enough infrastructure here in the U.S to make EVs totally take over. I find EVs to look ugly and wimpy. The only one I would be and this is if I won the lottery, I would be the HUMMER EV pickup and use it for fun and drive it in snow, and considering doing a Duramax swap on it…

    Reply
    1. lol and how are you going to put Gas from a Gas station in your vehicle during a power outage? The Pumps need electricity too.

Also EV Batteries don’t go in land Fills… they get repurposed for other Battery Back up applications and recycled into new batteries.

  16. It’s a concept, if you’ve been around the automotive world you would know that they rarely make the production version a carbon copy. That said I’d like to see how they end up comparatively in price and performance. Maybe they’ll have that “tunable” exhaust sound as an option? 😉

    Reply
  17. Thank God this is still a concept, that screen is too much, I like the idea of the hiding screen like from Lucid, just the size needs to be toned down a little

  18. There are some cool features like the full length pass through, but when your competitors have all shown productions trucks months ago, it is not time to be showing a concept. They should have just skipped the concept and shown the production version.

    Reply
    1. They are just showing a concept to remind the public that they are still around. They are attempting to grab the attention of possible GM & Ford buyers to wait around for their “concept” entry into the ev mix. The vehicle will not have 50% of the innovative features that are being showcased. It will have an accumulation of the same features that appear in the GM & Ford lineup & will probably have the rebel snout that is the same front that appeared on ’55-’56 GMC pickups. The suicide doors will never appear & that “drive-in-theater” screen is obnoxious. I don’t imagine that I will see “Joe’s Construction ” on the door of one of these because you can slide an 18 ft 2×4 inside. This presentation is as laughable to me as the Hummer fanfare was & they are both over the top for practicality & pricing.

      Reply
    2. I agree, the teaser image of a Concept EV Truck has been going on for well over a year now, not an impressive start to wait that long only to know that the truck reveal is still a concept.

  19. The Chevy Silverado EV looks much better than any ford or ram. ford and ram both suck. And that ain’t no opinion, it’s facts. Chevy is the best!

    Reply
    1. I agree, but I would have to add, of all of the EV Trucks that are currently or soon to hit the market, the two trucks that I would consider to be the most fun to drive would be the Hummer EV and Canoo, it would be great news to know that the Canoo EV Pick Up will see the day of production.

      Reply
  20. If I was a truck guy this would be at the top of my list.

  21. The first to market is oftentimes not the winner. With your logic GM should cancel their program, too, and leave it all for Ford & Rivian.
Love the profile. Looks a bit like Range Rover. The front (tuning forks) and rear lighting suck, aren’t sleek like ICE RAM, but I kinda predicted that when FCA sold Magnetti.
This isn’t an FCA truck and that scares me. PSA, Stellantis, is now in control, but Carlos Taveres is smart enough, especially after a disappointment or two, to use the FCA NA staff.
RAM has surpassed Chevrolet and will keep growing. Sergio Marchionne was brilliant making RAM it’s own brand, making Dodge niche, focusing on Jeep. In 2008 Chrysler Corp was the automaker they said couldn’t be saved.

    1. Chevy surpassed ford and ram and dodge and toyota and will keep growing and never stop. Chevy beats dodge so much that everybody hates dodge rams. Chevy makes the real trucks, and you know it. Chevy Silverado is Americas number one truck, and Chevy embarrasses ford and dodge every second, SOOOOOOOO
