As electric vehicles continue to perfuse through the automotive landscape, aftermarket companies, like Kindred Motorworks, have been exploring the efficacy of EV restomods. To drum up some interest in their latest project, Kindred Motorworks will be showcasing an all-electric Chevy 3100 pickup truck at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction.
From January 21st to January 29th, 2023, Kindred Motorworks will be showing off the Kindred Chevy 3100 electric pickup truck. Priced at $159,000, this restomod is equipped with a 294-horsepower direct-drive electric motor in lieu of an ICE powertrain. This electric motor is mated to a 74 kWh battery, which provides an estimated 200 miles of driving range, while the 6.5 kW onboard charger supports Level 1 and Level 2 charging capabilities.
This powertrain overhaul is complimented by a double-wishbone front suspension setup, four-wheel disc brakes, power rack-and-pinion steering, and full LED lighting.
Moving inside the Kindred 3100 pickup, the interior has been modernized with keyless entry, power windows and locks, heated front seats, a full HVAC system, touchscreen infotainment, a backup camera, a center armrest with cupholders, wireless phone charging, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the gauges provide an old-school look and feel, yet have been updated to provide EV-specific information.
Kindred kept in mind the Chevy 3100’s original role, hauling and towing, and decided to finish the pickup with a marine-grade waterproof bed floor. This truck bed is accessible via a push-button tailgate. As for color options, prospective buyers can choose between eight different exterior paint jobs, four of which are solid, while the other four are two-tone.
It’s worth noting that Kindred Motorworks will also be showcasing a supercharged 1969 Camaro LT at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction. In additional, Kindred offers a naturally aspirated Camaro LS for $149,000.
“The Kindred Chevy 3100 is as user-friendly as it is useful,” Kindred Motorworks founder and CEO Rob Howard was quoted as saying. “The electric powertrain makes it simple and fun to drive, and our comprehensive upgrades deliver comfort that surpasses its original designers’ wildest imagination while remaining as practical as ever.”

Nice on the outside.
Good looking classic truck. Too bad it doesn’t have a SBC 350 under the hood. It appears the entire industry wants to shove this EV crap down our throats. As for me and my house, third gen Camaro’s for fun and Toyota Camrys for everyday transportation .
…or, keeping with Chevy heritage while still updating, how about the 90s Trailblazer 3.7/4.2 OHC inline six?
If we’re going to have to go to full on EV’s this is at least a nice choice.
Too bad they ruined it.
Beautifool truck. Reminds me of old America.
Beautiful truck, until you pop the hood. Dark green would have been a better choice but to each his own. Makes me long for when I had my ’55 Cameo with good old 327 under hood, much better pic than under the hood of this one. Sold that towards a new 1973 El Camino.
Nice choice, no more gasoline or filters.
