Hennessey’s 850-Horsepower C7 Corvette Z06 Looks And Sounds Awesome: Video

The eighth-generation mid-engine Corvette C8 is an awesome bit of kit, but for those speed freaks who prefer the long hood of the C7-generation Vette (plus a whole heaping of extra power), then Hennessey’s tuned C7 Corvette Z06 might be just the ticket. Now, we’re getting a full sensory blast of the Hennessey-tuned Corvette Z06 thanks to the following brief video.

Coming to us from Hennessey’s YouTube channel, the video is a minute and 46 seconds long, and doesn’t include any music or narration. Rather, this “Sights and Sounds” video keeps it simple, showing the high-powered monster as it accelerates around Hennessey’s test track in Texas, reaching an impressive 140 mph down the straight.

Under the hood, this Hennessey-tuned Corvette Z06 is equipped with the performance company’s HPE 850 package, boosting output to a stout 850 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 715 pound-feet of torque. To note, the Z06 comes from the factory with  650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque thanks to its supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine.

To make those numbers a reality, the HPE 850 package includes a new lower pulley, high-flow heads, long-tube headers, upgraded valvetrain, a high-flow intake system, upgraded heat exchanger, new midpipes and catalytic converters, a custom camshaft, and dyno tuning to make it all run right.

Properly motivated, the HPE 850 Corvette Z06 will hit 60 mph in 2.6 mph, with the quarter mile dispatched in just 10.3 seconds at 136 mph. The upgrade is compatible with both the factory automatic transmission and manual transmission.

Funny enough, for those customers that need even more power, Hennessey also offers the Corvette Z06 HPE 1000 package, which, as you can probably guess, ups output to 1,000 horsepower and 966 pound-feet of torque.

All told, this Hennessey-tuned Corvette Z06 is an absolute monster, and it sounds equally as impressive, too.
