Hyundai debuted the redesigned Tucson for the 2022 model year, and although the 2022 Tucson offers both a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) powertrain and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain, the model’s standard 2.5L gasoline engine makes it a rival for the refreshed 2022 GMC Terrain. As such, we’re lining up both vehicles to check out how they stack up in terms of exterior dimensions, interior dimensions, and cargo dimensions with the following GM Authority Dimensional Comparison.
Exterior Dimensions
When it comes to the exterior dimensions, the 2022 GMC Terrain is smaller than the 2022 Hyundai Tucson in every dimension with the exception of overall length, where both models are 182.3 inches long. The biggest differences between the two crossovers are in the wheelbase (1.2 inches), and the front and rear tracks (1.5 inches and 1.6 inches, respectively).

Interior Dimensions
With its smaller exterior dimensions, one would assume that available interior room in the 2022 GMC Terrain would also be down when compared to the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. In this case, that assumption proves to be correct, with the Terrain posting smaller numbers across the board. The biggest differences are in the back seat, including second row hip room (2.1 inches), second row legroom (1.6 inches), and second row headroom (1 inch). The rest of the available interior room differences are less than an inch between the two vehicles.
To note, there are some small sizing discrepancies between the 2022 Hyundai Tucson model types, with the Tucson HEV and PHEV offering 41.1 inches of front row legroom, and the Tucson PHEV offering 39.5 inches of rear seat legroom

Behind the first row, the Tucson offers an extra 11.5 cubic feet, while behind the second row, the Tucson offers an extra 9.1 cubic-feet.
To note, cargo room figures for the Tucson HEV and PHEV differ from the internal-combustion-only model, with the Tucson HEV offering 74.5 cubic feet behind the first row and 38.8 cubic feet behind the second row, and the Tucson PHEV offering 66.3 cubic-feet behind the first row and 31.9 cubic-feet behind the second row.

I was just about to look this up on my own. Good comparison. I still prefer the Terrain’s interior, but the Tucson is definitely a more recent design given its ample cargo space.
Terrain is inferior in every way.
And way uglier.
The Tucson is superior in every way. The interior of the Tucson is awesome.
Tucson dash looks great.
The Tuscan interior is pretty cool looking but I can like the look of the exterior of the terrain better but I must say even the Tuscan has a bigger engine then that only Option 1.5 engine that gmc offers on the terrain. But looking at the refresh Denali it just looks so much better the new Tuscan looks to much Star Wars for my test I would feel like the jetson !!!
A Terrain update can’t come soon enough. Do we know if there be a new version or replaced with an EV?
2022 carries refresh front and rear fascia pretty sure vehicle will look identical to older version vehicle getting tweaked very minor and a BIG MISTAKE engine deletion of the 2.0 l instead we get H U D and updates bumpers and wheels but no power / torque while competition out does Gm again for 2022
