Rick Treworgy’s Private Collection Of GM Vehicles Is Staggering: Video

In case you didn’t hear the news, Muscle Car City, a massive automotive museum in Florida containing hundreds of collectible GM vehicles, recently shut its doors, with museum owner and eminent car collector Rick Treworgy auctioning off most of the vehicles late last month. However, Treworgy didn’t sell everything, and still keeps a private collection with some very impressive pieces, as featured in the following video.

Clocking in at a little over 22 minutes in length, this video comes to us from the Wade Kawasaki’s Car Guy Adventures YouTube channel, and features Treworgy as he gives a tour of the GM vehicles he didn’t sell following the closure of Muscle Car City.

As the video host points out, this collection isn’t an assortment of trailer queens – this is a driver’s garage, filled with vehicles meant for enjoyment.

The first vehicle featured is a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, which hovers just above the ground with a menacing, track-ready vibe. “I’m giving up a 2020 [Corvette] to keep this car because I believe over the years this one is gonna be the one worth a little more money and be more rare than what the ’20 is, although the ’20 is sure holding its value right now,” Treworgy says.

Up next, Treworgy details a classic custom Chevrolet Suburban, which now rocks a chopped roof and windows, Cameo fiberglass rear fenders, Nomad treatments on the tailgate, and a modern LS drivetrain feeding a narrowed 9-inch rear end. All that goodness combos with a light yellow and orange color color scheme, which is echoed in the trim, interior, and engine bay as well.

Further highlights include a 1969 Camaro Z/28 with a cross ram DZ 302, a 1912 Little Roadster, and over 20 Big Block Vettes.

Treworgy’s collection of GM vehicles is hugely impressive, as is his knowledge and passion. Hit play and soak it all in.

  1. I had the opportunity of visiting Muscle Car City right before it closed. Best collection of GM muscle cars I’ve ever seen. Sad to see it close.

  2. I visited my in-laws in Punta Gorda right before Christmas…my father in-law told me there was a car museum he wanted to take me too. He couldn’t stop talking about it. Turns out it was Muscle Car City which was only about 10 minutes from their house. He walked up to the front desk to pick up the annual pass that he ordered when the receptionist told him that the museum was closing and the cars would be auctioned off towards the end of January. He was gutted. He spent a couple of hours showing me and my kids all of the different cars he owned and raced over the years (he used to drag race Chevelle’s in the 1970’s) as well as some of the cars his dad had during his career at GM. The collection was awe-inspiring to say the least. I took a lot of pictures of the cars. The most interesting part of the collection was all the cars were in driven condition. They weren’t restored to perfection, they were just cleaned up and ready to be driven again. It was sad to see the Mecum Auction Inspection Stickers on the windshields of all the cars. I’m glad I was able to see it once.
