All-New 2022 Hyundai Tucson Teased As Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain Rival

South Korean automaker Hyundai recently teased the all-new 2022 Hyundai Tucson crossover, providing a glimpse of the automaker’s future Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain rival.

First impressions show off some sleek styling and sharp, chiseled lines. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson was styled with the automaker’s latest Parametric Dynamics design language, which advances the Sensuous Sportiness design language first introduced on the Hyundai Elantra.

Standout features for the latest Hyundai Tucson include new signature daytime running lights, which curve down into the front fascia in a triangular design that brackets the grille section. The lights can only be seen when they are switched on. In back, the tail lamps repeat the triangular design scheme, and come connected by a single tail lamp strip across the hatch. The window line gives it a forward rake in terms of visuals, while large alloy wheels occupy the corners.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson will offer larger and wider exterior dimensions than the previous generation, with proportions evened out by a long hood line and short overhangs. Critically, Hyundai adds that it will offer both short and long wheelbase variants.

The automaker also teased the 2022 Hyundai Tucson interior design, which includes a dual cockpit layout intended to accommodate a number of high-tech features.

“Getting into the all-new Tucson’s spacious interior, or INTERSPACE, is like entering a neatly organized room where everyday concerns disappear, not unlike the feeling of a modern boutique hotel where your comfort and convenience are the utmost priority,” the automaker states in a press release.

Highlights inside the 2022 Hyundai Tucson include a new instrument display, which occupies a spot lower on the dash, cleaning up the look. The dash wraps around the cabin and seamlessly integrates with the doors, while a vertically oriented center stack houses the infotainment controls.

Further details on the 2022 Hyundai Tucson are on the way, with a full reveal set for September 15th at 9:30 a.m. KST.

  6. This makes the Equinox and Terrain look totally antiquated. That’s why it’s rare to see anyone under 50 driving an Equinox or Terrain.
