The 2020 Corvette C8 is making the rounds in the auto show circuit, with the latest reveal taking place at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The regional debut was complemented by the following short video clip, which shows off the new mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette with some exhilarating new footage.
Although the clip is just 34 seconds long, it still has the quick editing needed to get the blood pumping for 2020 Corvette enthusiasts. The clip opens with a run down on the Corvette logo, followed by some beautiful detail shots of the C8. Finally, we get some nice sound clips as we see the C8 accelerating and generally looking sexy.
The 2020 Corvette slated for the Middle East market will be mechanically identical to the U.S.-spec vehicle, boasting the same all-new mid-engine platform and 6.2L Small Block LT2 V8 engine, the latter of which is tuned to produce 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with the optional performance exhaust system. Properly motivated, the new Vette will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than three seconds when equipped with the optional Z51 performance package.
To note, we previously wrote about the differences between the LT2 and preceding LT1 engine for those interested in a little more info.
The 2020 Corvette C8 will be available in the Middle East market halfway through the 2020 calendar year, which isn’t long after U.S. customers will begin receiving their cars.
In addition to sales in the Middle East, General Motors will also export the new Vette to China, where the fresh performance machine made its Chinese regional debut at the 2019 China International Import Expo in Shanghai several weeks ago. Additionally, GM will offer the new Vette in right-hand drive for the Australian market, and it’s possible GM may even sell it in other right-hand-drive markets as well.
