Lingenfelter Performance Engineering is a company that has a ton of exciting General Motors-related projects on the go at any time. It displayed a number of these projects at the recent 2019 Detroit Autorama custom car show and has now put together a short video documenting its display at the annual automotive expo.
Among the notable items on display at LPE’s Detroit Autorama booth this past year were the American tuning company’s 1,000 hp Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible (with its 1,000 package for GM’s supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 engine), its off-road suspension package for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and our personal favorite, its custom 417 cu. in. V8 stroker motor, which is based on a GM 6.2-liter LS3 V8.
LPE previously documented the build process for the 1,000 hp Camaro ZL1 ahead of its initial debut at the 2018 SEMA Show. The Camaro features the company’s 1,000 hp package for the LT4, which includes custom cylinder heads, a 103-millimeter throttle body, a Lingenfelter camshaft, high-flow fuel injectors and an upgraded fuel pump, among much more.
Details on the company’s off-road suspension package for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra are slim right now, but it may be related to the ‘Reaper’ kit for the outgoing Silverado/Sierra. That package, if you need a reminder, included Fox Racing Shocks, a three-inch lift, 20-inch wheels shod in off-road tires and more.
Official info on the stroker LS3 crate engine pictured in the video is also not available, but the company offers a similar package with forged pistons, lightweight connecting rods, upgraded valves and pushrods, new head gaskets, LS9 spark plugs and other mods through its website. It makes 605 hp and costs a significant $15,000.
Check out the video above for a full preview of LPE at the 2019 Detroit Autorama.
