Tickets for the 2019 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix at Belle Isle went on sale Tuesday, and next year’s race promises more fan access than ever before, as all fans will be able to enter the Fifth Third Bank Paddock without having to buy a special pass. Every ticket holder will also have access to the 93-year-old James Scott Memorial Fountain and Autotrader Winner’s Circle.
Sadly, the Stadium Super Trucks series won’t be back for the 2019 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix, but the rest of the racing action will be pretty much the same as in recent years. This means GM fans will be able to see the Cadillac DPi-V.R prototype race cars in action at an IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race on the island, along with two Pirelli Trans-Am races, and two IndyCar races, again making Detroit the only doubleheader on the IndyCar racing calendar. Announcements regarding other events and activities during the Grand Prix are forthcoming.
In addition, the organizers of the 2019 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix have been busy improving the layout of the grandstands, giving all fans a better view of the action. Cars.com Grandstand 1 will now be on the driver’s left side of the track, across from pitlane, providing a view of the front stretch, Turn 1, and the action in the pits. The grandstand at Turn 5 will no longer be there, but it will be replaced by Grandstand 7 in the “horseshoe”, providing a view of the cars coming out of the fastest part of the track on the back stretch.
Finally, the organizers of the 2019 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix will position two grandstands at Turn 3 for additional viewing of one of the most exciting corners on the track. “Value-priced” Reserved Seating will be on the driver’s left side of the track, while the new General Admission Grandstand 4 will be on the right side.
Tickets for the event will start at $45 for a one-day pass, or $80 for a two-day pass, and pricing for the Reserved Seating grandstands will start at $55 for a single day.
