We’ve seen footage of a Hennessey Performance-built Exorcist Camaro ZL1 being driven by former GM engineer and hot shoe John Heinricy. Now, we get to see how the high-performance pony car is made, as this two-and-a-half-minute video shows us a time lapse of an Exorcist build.
Only a hundred units of the Exorcist Camaro ZL1 will be built, each powered by a 1,000-horsepower LT4 V8 fitted with a massive Whipple supercharger. Aside from the blower, most of the other modifications have to do with the cylinder heads, including a custom HPE camshaft, upgraded springs, valves, and lifters, and in-house porting. Stainless steel long-tube headers and midpipes are also installed, along with exterior badging, and dash and engine plaques.
The cost of the Exorcist package is $55,000 on top of the cost of a sixth-gen Camaro ZL1, putting HPE’s final price in the same neighborhood as the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Not sure which vehicle is more enticing? Hit play to watch the time lapse as you make up your mind.

$55K for 350 more horsepower than a stock Camaro ZL1 while throwing the 3 yr/36,000 mi basic, 5 yr/60,000 mi powertrain warranty down the toilet will cause most people to think about it because the stock Camaro ZL1 is a reliable world class sports coupe while Hennessey’s Exorcist Camaro ZL1 could self destruct after 50 miles and it would be nice to see some suspension work that even without the Whipple supercharger handle better than the ZL1 would give a secondary reason to buy.
