Opel Adds Racy Cues To Create The Vivaro Sport

Opel has given the sporting touch to the Vivaro light commercial vehicle. The brand has announced the Opel Vivaro Sport to jazz up the Vivaro range with a few racy touches and plans to introduce the vehicle IAA Commercial Vehicle exhibit this month.

The Vivaro Sport was imagined to add to a portfolio of LCV to fit everyone’s needs. For the commercial consumer looking for something a little less mundane, that is the Vivaro Sport. The vehicle comes with silver or black decorative striping depending on the factory color selected, 17-inch aluminum wheels (which may also be finished in black) and fog lights.

“The Opel Vivaro Sport is the LCV highlight for our especially active customers,” said Steffen Rasching, Opel/Vauxhall Director Commercial Vehicles. “This exclusive variant once again demonstrates that commercial vehicles are no longer just practical work horses or voluminous multi-talent. They now offer elegance and comfort at passenger car level – including comprehensive standard equipment and athletic design.”

The sporty cues end with exterior trimmings, though. Don’t expect a go-fast engine under the hood, as the Vivaro Sport still features the frugal BiTurbo engine cranking out 125 hp or 145 hp depending on configuration. If you are looking for a seriously quick commercial vehicle, Irmscher will happily sell you tuned Vivaro for fast delivery.

Opel will be delighted to offer you the sporting package when it goes on sale with a price tag of €28,800, or $32,393 USD.

  1. Kinda reminds me of the Ford experimental van some years ago. Seems they wanted a go fast van, so the body(mini) was mounted on a Indy chassis and requisite powertrain (may have been F!). It was fast, but really an oddball experiment.
