Man Pulled From Sinking Cadillac ATS In Lake St. Clair: Video

Everyone knows the old saying about vintage Cadillacs: they’re land yachts. But, still, not meant for any sort of aquatic adventure.

That includes the Cadillac ATS, which was pulled from Lake St. Clair after a driver suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel. Local news affiliate WXYZ Detroit published video of the dramatic rescue as first responders and witnesses jumped into the lake to help the driver.

The ATS was on its way to the bottom of the lake when emergency personnel began hoisting it out and allowing the driver to escape. The ATS began to submerge under 5.5 feet of water, 15 feet off the shore. Emergency rescue crews stated the man likely only had minutes before the ATS went completely underwater.

The driver is expected to be just fine, and there was no word on what exactly happened while he was driving.

  1. Although it would had sunk, it did sink slowly giving time for the resue. If it were a different vehicle, such as an import, it would go under much faster!

  2. This has no place here. Cadillac sales in the U.S. are bad enough news!
