Community Question: What Do You Think Cadillac Is Bringing To Pebble Beach?

The Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance is a fancy, shmancy event and Cadillac looks to be bringing its A-game. The brand announced yesterday through a teaser video (which you can see here) that it will bring a “future design concept” to the event.

Specifically, the interior design was highlighted in the video description, featuring curved, OLED screens developed and engineered by LG. The technology is said to be making its way to a future production vehicle.

As for the exterior, it’s anyone’s guess. That’s why we want to hear from you: what does Cadillac have up its sleeve?

Since this is Pebble Beach, we’re going to rule out a new crossover or SUV. It’s simply not the event for mass-market products to thrive, and Cadillac has no history in showing anything of the like. Instead, Pebble Beach has been home to the Cadillac Elmiraj coupe and the Cadillac Ciel convertible. Both were striking representations of Cadillac design that have yet to see fruition in the slightest.

Our bet is on yet another striking coupe or convertible, maybe, just maybe previewing the Cadillac CT8 flagship that has supposedly gone on indefinite hiatus since March.

So, we open it up to you. Utilize the comment space accordingly, and vote in the poll down below.

  1. Small 25’k car would be a dumb move in Pebble beach.

    1. It’s an enormous sedan. Brownish-charcoal exterior, glass roof, and some sweet LED lighting.

I suspect an version of the LT4 as well (600HP/600lb.ft.)

  5. The video has a quick shot of the back of the seats as if if they are from a low-slung convertible a.k.a. a Corvette-Cadillac model. No top in sight. Or perhaps a visual trick?

  6. Unless things have changed GM had 3 large cars planned for show car use. The first was pure show car. the second was closer but still a show car and the third was planned to be a show car but one that could be built.

We have already seen the first two and the third has remain pending.

I agree the SUV is where the money is made but it will be a large sedan of some kind that will make in impression at Pebble Beach.

This may be something that will hint at the Flag Ship or at least what they are thinking. the car is still 3-4 years out so I caution that this would still be a concept car and not production.

Cadillac needs to sell the sedan as for the SUV it sells it self. No reason to make a big deal at PB on a SUV. They need to promote the product that is more difficult to sell.

  7. Cadillac just posted a photo of the car’s mirror, and it appears to be a sedan or coupe. I’m really hoping it is a near production concept. Cadillac needs some new air in the design area. The dash looks like a good blend of Mercedes and BMW design cues, but still distinctly Cadillac. It will definitely be exciting to see.

  8. an SUV/CUV concept will more likely be built than a car concept because SUVs is ware the money is.

  10. With Mercedes showing off a 236 inch long Maybach coupe concept at the same show, Cadillac better be showing nothing but a glamourus full size flagship sedan or coupe. If we see some ridiculous CUV or SUV Cadillac will be a laughing stock of the show. As far as a sports car, I highly doubt that considering that is not even on Cadillacs radar anytime soon or for the next 10 to 15 years.

  11. I think it will be a sedan , but wasn’t offered in the poll .
When you go to Pebble Beach you bring your A-Game and a tricked out sedan with possible styling cues of the future CT8 may drive on the lawn . Or Cadillacs $250,000 hand built car JDN has hinted at wanting one day .

  13. JDN said the CT9 and XT9 wont come till 2029….but it would be nice if they come much sooner than 2029 plus the CT8 has been cancelled……I’m expecting Cadillac to be exciting and great sometime in the next decade.

  14. When did JDN say the CT8 was cancelled? Did you talk to him? Yes I know CT9/XT9 will be out in 2029, forgot these dates. You do know Cadillac is still on track to have 11 models by 2020, bet these CT8 will part of it.

  15. Wouldn’t it be nice, if Cadillac offered something like Mercedes Maybach edition cars. Something like a Cadillac CT8 LaSalle??

    1. I would not call it LaSalle. If you checked your history, LaSalle was a cheaper companion sub-brand for Cadillac.

  16. Flagship sedan concept on the scale of a Mercedes Maybach. It’s beautiful.

  17. I think the debut will be a mid-engined sports coupe. More GT than hard-edged track car. That is what the Corvette mid-engined will be for.
