Another Major League Baseball All-Star game, another Chevrolet vehicle to be awarded. The brand did just that, as Eric Hosmer was named Most Valuable Player after going 2-for-3 in the contest with a home run, two runs batted in and a run scored.
Chevrolet, the official sponsor of the MLB, was on hand to offer Hosmer either a 50th Anniversary Chevrolet Camaro, or a Chevrolet Colorado Diesel Midnight Edition. Hosmer chose the latter.
“Hosmer’s spectacular on-field performance tonight demonstrates to all baseball fans and especially our kids that hard work, determination and teamwork is what wins, and that is why Chevrolet is proud to present the MVP award,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet.
Chevrolet’s official sponsorship also means more than giving away vehicles; the brand has raised over $28 million over the past 10 years to help local baseball teams, secure gear, essentials and instruction.
“At Chevrolet, we appreciate the power of play and the positive effect that it has on our kids,” said Sweeney. “That positive effect on our kids and ultimately on our communities is why it is so important to us and our Chevrolet dealers to support baseball at every level.”

What is pictured with Hosmer is actually the Z71 Trail Boss option code PCZ not the Z71 Midnight Edition Option Code PDN. Most dealers are afraid to order the Z71 Trail Boss Edition and the Diesel option together due to the high MSRP so theoretically it is rare but could be ordered together if neither the engine or Trail Boss package are on order constraint..
