California Super Coupes Will Swap Your C5 Corvette To A C7 Rear End

The rear of the C7 Corvette Stingray still remains a controversial design for some Corvette devout. However, if you’re on the love it list, you may be intrigued over this if you happen to also own a C5 Corvette.

California Super Coupes has introduced its latest creation: a C5 Corvette with a C7 Corvette swapped rear end. Maybe it’s the best of both worlds? Pop-up headlights and a radical rear end is an intriguing combination.

Whether you like it or not, the design and work does look cohesive and flowing into the rear of the Corvette, and it’s a much less expensive way to earn the latest design. California Super Coupes charges $3,995 for the rear kit, which supposedly bolts right on to existing mounting points with no fabrication.

The kit includes the C7 rear bumper, wiring harness, tail lights, vents, third brake light with housing, reflectors and all the necessary GM hardware. However, the exhaust is not, and modification will be needed to give it the final C7 look.

  1. I mean, Corvettes get a lot of rear-end collisions – and rarely are totaled out due to their high blue book value.

If someone asked me “would you like a C5 or a C7 rear end on your C5” at the repair shop… I would at least spend several seconds before saying the C5 bumper.

  3. Hard to tell from this, but I think it looks good. I`m not a c5 or c7 rearend lover, even though I own a metallic red c5.

  4. Reminds me of when someone made a C5 body kit for the C4. I remember looking at one at the Pomona Swap Meet about 15+ years ago. At the time all I could think was wow-that was a really bad idea………
