Have you met the 2016 GMC Sierra All Terrain X? No? If not, head over here to our debut feature to read all about it before joining in our discussion.
If you have, and would call yourself an All Terrain X aficionado, then let us chat. Are you liking what GMC has done to beef up the looks of the Sierra and create the All Terrain X?
The stylistic nods are fairly subtle, but altogether, they create a very different package, unlike anything GMC currently offers for the Sierra, or the Canyon.
It starts with a unique All Terrain X grille up front, which uses tinted chrome accents to feel decidedly GMC, but also dirty; dirty in a good way, not a gross way. Every trim piece also sees the body-colored treatment to match the exterior color of your choice, and the bed mounted sport bar does wonders to give the truck a masculine, off-road presence.
The finishing touch are the 265/65R18SL Mud-Terrain-rated Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac MT tires, however. They also house appropriate 18-inch black aluminum wheels.
Altogether, the consensus between the staff is that it’s a looker. Sure, it puts form over function (this is not a Ford F-150 Raptor killer) but it’s almost there… sort of. We have no doubts the 2016 Sierra All Terrain X will find a home in plenty of driveways when it goes on sale this spring.

its about time gm made something more aggressive than the z71 package
The package should come with the 6.2 the 5.3 is a good motor but a little under powered for the size. We got a 2010 Sierra with the 6.2 and it’s perfect for it. Gm and particular need to put the 6.2 in more trim levels other than just the top end
Can you say “Fifi?”
Why did you call this a new truck ,all people see is the roll bar and some lights ,why didn’t you put a off-road bumper with a grill guard on it ,the back bumper should have lights built in it .If you wanted to build a off-road you have to lift a truck 6 inches with a winch and off road tires ,with 6.2 gas motor or a Dura-max for the people that want power .
Lower the rear end and give it a move level appearance and you’ve got a winner!
I’d want one without the rack to haul firewood from northern New Mexico mountains and forests.
I like it but instead of buying this, I’ll get the “regular’ AT version and order it with the 6.2 V8. From there, I will simply black it out with mirror caps, and door moldings, etc. Also, not sure if this is SLT level or SLE level of trim…
