Opel has had a great 2015 indeed. Last year, the German GM subsidiary earned praise from Ökotrend for building the most environment-friendly van, a title it has won again this year already for the fourth year in a row, thanks to the Opel Zafira Tourer 1.6 CNG.
The automotive manufacturer was also presented with the GWA Effie in Gold, Germany’s top marketing prize, for the “Umparken im Kopf” advertising campaign. Actually, the ad campaign is responsible for over 30 awards presented to Opel and lead agency Sholz & Friends, including the Grand Prix from Econ Forum’s Jahr de Werbung for the ‘the best campaign of the year’.
The streak would continue as Opel went on to earn a bunch of more titles thanks to the many awards earned by the Adam, Corsa, Mokka, and Astra. The Movano, Vivaro, and Karl were also winners. Read on to see what each vehicle brought home.
The refreshed Astra was the highlight of Opel’s year, earning the most notable awards in Europe including Car of the Year, Best Choice, and Family Car titles. It would eventually end up winning the Golden Steering Wheel from Auto Bild and Bild am Sonntag, as well as the Safety Best 2015 award presented by AUTOBEST for the IntelliLux LED matrix light. The LED matrix light wasn’t the only feature of the Astra to earn praise; Auto Bild and Computer Bild awarded Opel with the Connected Car and Pioneer Award for the Astra’s innovative OnStar system.
The ADAM contributed to the trophy case by earning the Auto Motor Und Sport magazine Readers’ Choice Award – The Best Cars in the mini-car category, along with the Blogger Auto Award 2015. The ADAM S was granted with the Autonis Award, also presented by Auto Motor Und Sport. Both the ADAM and Zafira Tourer were number one in their respective categories for the Value Champion 2015 awards presented by Auto Bild and independent service provide Schwacke.
The Opel Corsa added to the success by being named Most Sensible Car 2015 by magazines Guter Rat and SUPERillu. The Corsa also won the Car of the Year Award in Romania, Greece, and Serbia, as well as the Best Buy Car of Europe for 2015 by the AUTOBEST jury.
Let’s not forget the Mokka, which was named Company Car of the Year by DEKRA. The Movano, Vivaro, KARL, and Zafira Tourer were all presented with the Plus X Reward, making Opel the “Most Innovative Brand” at the Plus X Awards since 2012. The Vivaro was also named Fleet Car of The Year, while the Movano was named Green Van 2015; it also won the transporter class in the DEKRA Used Car Report.
So, as you can see, Opel was pretty busy collecting honors and awards during 2015. Hopefully the automaker can continue its success for 2016.

trophies is good but mean nothing and must to work harder
These ade fantastic cars yet market share is weak and profits low. For Opel to not just survive but thrive, it needs a four (Buick) SUV line up to symmetrically compete against VW.
In addition, the PSA MVPs are unnecessary but , since paid for, should be designed as a larger Adam or Astra-like vehicle to better focus on the segment and battle the 500L.
Opel must also actually get paid for its cars that are sold as Buick and Holden globally. GM has created an on paper ponzi-loss scheme in an effort to obtain EU tax write offs but such losses create poor public perception.
VAG and VW is to complex. VW qality is so hight and go AUDI-MB-BMW class every day more closer. in fact, has been perhaps even gone
