23-Carat Gold 1931 Cadillac Is Anything But Subtle

Is flashy not your thing? Then avert your eyes, because you’re staring at a 1931 Cadillac Fleetwood Drop Head Coupe featuring 23.7 leaf-gold carat bodywork.

Oh, that’s not all, though. The door handles are pure silver, and the internal door handles are 24-carat gold.

According to Leicester Mercury, the 1931 Cadillac was owned by flamboyant entertainer, Liberace, and the vehicle will be on display at the Footman James, a classic car insurance company, booth during The Classic Motor Show.

David Bond, Director of Footman James said, “We are being a bit Liberace with the truth here, as the car was believed to have belonged to ol’ Walter. However, regardless of ownership, it really is a bedazzling peacock and well worth a visit! We would therefore like to encourage visitors to the show to pop by and let us know whether they think the Cadillac is either a beauty or a beast!”

  1. How ironic that an insurance company would sponsor Liberace’s car. Liberace always had difficulty getting car insurance. Insurance companies will deny this but he was on a blacklist and uninsurable. Apparently he had to many rear Enders.
