AutoGuide recently conjured up a list that horsepower enthusiasts will love: the top 10 most affordable vehicles with at least 400 hp.
While the Ford Mustang GT tops the chart as the cheapest vehicle on the market with more than 400 hp, Chevrolet vehicles comprise half of the entire list.
Rounding out the tenth and fifth spot are the 455-460 hp Chevrolet Corvette Stingray ($56,395) and GMC Sierra 1500 Double Cab, Standard Box 2LT 2WD ($44,590), which can be equipped with the 6.2L V8 in double-cab standard box SLT form, as AutoGuide points out.
Landing in sixth spot is the 415 hp Chevrolet SS ($48,040), our favorite unsung hero, while the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Double Can Standard Box LTZ ($44,180) and its 6.2L V8 lands in third place. But be sure to spec the options sheet wisely because the LTZ trim is only way to get the 420 hp powerplant.
Finally comes the 455 hp 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS ($37,295), which climbs in at number two on the bargain-based list. It’s potent 6.2L V8 LT1 bests the first place Ford by 20 hp, though you will have to spend an extra $5,000 to take home the gen-six Camaro compared to Ford’s current offering.

Yet they cry over $3500 bucks and more added content.
You want better cars you will have to pay for them.
Chevrolet SS should have immediately been shifted from Pontiac when G8 ended distribution.
Fritz was wrong about rebranding. I’d have loved to see this car offered as a base model all the way up to an SS Clubhouse.
It’s too bad that Chevrolet and Holden will no longer be selling a RWD sedan. Each brand needs such a traditional Detroit/American option.
Just imagine if you knew what GM knows.
Forget about having affordable 400 hp vehicles as General Motors could make their C6 Corvette ZR1 LSA supercharged 6.2L V8 engine available to cars like the Chevy SS, the Camaro SS, the Cadillac SRX, Cadillac ATS and Cadillac Escalade for 556-605 hp.
