As we detailed earlier, after the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was spied testing in Michigan, Chevy isn’t being bashful about hiding its monster muscle coupe.
Chevy has ditched the plastic cladding the 2017 Camaro ZL1 was once spotted with, and it now wears a thin layer of swirled camouflage to keep our eyes from discovering the finer details. What is apparent even with the camo, however, is the massive front grille opening, and the addition of a minor rear spoiler.
Here, we have our best look at the car as it was filmed lapping the famed Nürburing with an utterly eery exhaust note exiting its huge tips.
It’s expected the 2017 Camaro ZL1 will arrive with the LT4 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, but it’s possible the Camaro team may have something else in store for the new ZL1. Patience is a virtue but, in the meantime, we have this video to whet our palettes.

That thing looks wicked fast, What a great time to be a Chevy fan!!!
Looks like GM hit a homerun with the 8L90E
Some websites are saying this could be the Z28.
This is the ZL1 lmao over 735 hp
Look at how nimble this thing is. This car is going to be fantastic.
Chevy’s Camaro is about K less expensive than big brother Corvette which means it gives Chevy engineers a lot of wiggle room to increase the performance of the Camaro while still being less expensive than the Corvette as a Camaro with the 650 hp LT4 supercharged 6.2L V8 would cost about K (including strengthening chassis, magnetic ride control suspension, and carbon ceramic Brembo brakes); although the Corvette being a lighter platform would still outperform the Camaro.
650 hp nothing will have 735 hp for the hellcat lmao
The new ZL1 will have 735 hp for the hellcat corvette z06 garbage many problems
The probles is the new Gt 500 mustang 700 hp the ZL1 640 hp 650 hp nothing small engine the mustang killer maybe
In my opinion, as much as the ZL1 was awesome and may still have a place, going directly to the Z28 for this model would be better. Naturally aspirated of course.
Especially for 2017, the 40th anniversary of Camaro and of the Z28 package.
