Marketing companies the world over know the key to a consumers heart predominantly lies in the power of video. Viral videos, the marketer’s trump card, must be created and disseminated with the outmost care and precision. In the marketer’s cookbook, brevity and levity reign supreme.
Or you could simply say “screw it,” ditch the whole concept entirely, and create a near 20-minute video called Mapping Meditation that teaches listeners how to meditate in a Buick LaCrosse.
Set to a backdrop of swirling, ethereal music, the 16-minute video guides listeners on a meditative journey all while in the confines of the Epsilon II-based sedan.
“Feel your hands against the wheel, your back and bottom against the seat, your feet against the pedals. See the quality of light change as you move from one environment to another. Listen to the sound outside the car. Listen to the tires on pavement,” instructs Jeff Kober, our soft-spoken host.
In all fairness, the video is actually part of a new series of Buick ads that look to celebrate wellness through various Happiness, Yoga and Fashion videos.
It might not pack the epic punch of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s famous split or Honda’s brilliant ‘Cog’ ad from 2009, but Buick’s “Mapping Medition” could be exactly what you need after a hard day at the office.

I imagine the people who designed this video were smoking something of good quality for they certainly appear to be relaxed , in another dimension , perhaps ??
I”m not so sure I want someone that relaxed driving behind me at night on the freeway . That and driving an autonomous car is a recipe for disaster .
Maybe they’re stressed, thinking about the (lack of) resale value for a car whose sales figures are double-digit red?
“It might not pack the epic punch of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s famous split or Honda’s brilliant ‘Cog’ ad from 2009”?
Yeah, I ‘m pretty sure no one’s going to attach “epic” or “brilliant” to this one.
