Even briefly skimming through social media will yield no shortage of videos documenting some low-performance driver piloting a high-performance car into disaster. Typically, these videos show the driver attempting to show off right before they put their ride into a curb or some other unmovable object. Now, it looks like this sort of mentality can extend to the water as well, as evidenced by this video of a Corvette boat crashing.
The video in question was captured at the Merritt Island Christmas boat parade in Merritt Island, Florida. This annual event typically brings out hundreds of participants, who float down the canal with their craft decorated in festive lights as residents watch on from the shore.
A video from this year’s parade captures the moment that it all goes wrong for one showboating captain. The video shows a Corvette boat styled to look like the seventh-generation C7 and outfitted with some multi-colored lights. As the Corvette boat floats by some onlookers, a man and woman are seen, with the man in the captain’s seat and the woman standing up and dancing next to him.
Suddenly, we see the captain gun the motor, sending the tail of the boat swinging wide. The captain continues to goose the throttle and swing the boat back and forth. Unfortunately, the Corvette captain fails to keep it under control, and before long, collides with an adjacent craft, knocking one of passengers into the water.
The video continues by showing footage of the damage done to the second boat, which appears to have a banged-up outboard motor and a destroyed seat.

According to local reports, three people were injured in the incident, one of whom was hospitalized. Locals condemned the accident, saying that that sort of behavior had no place in the parade. Event organizers also put out a statement condemning the behavior and the crash. For the moment, charges have yet to be filed, but an official investigation is currently underway.

“Hold my beer sweet thang. No need to sit down. Keep dancing. I got this.”
I never considered myself as being a very intelligent individual but after watching these type of idiots in action videos I shouldn’t be so critical of myself.
