2016 GMC Sierra: Hot Or Not?

The 2016 GMC Sierra has debuted with its new, revised front end, losing some chrome, and adding plenty of LED accent lighting.

While the 2015 GMC Sierra never looked particularly bad, it was a tad boring to the eye. The 2016 Sierra, however, has been nip-tucked just enough to look fresh, despite an all-new design being a few years off.

Most of the changes have been reserved for the front end, but both the front and rear see new “C” shaped  LED lighting, and new LED daytime running lights at the lower portion of the front clip.

It’s a handsome new look but, if we had to pick either the 2016 Sierra or 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, we’d pick the Silverado this time around. The new looks of 2016 Silverado catch the eye a bit more. But, the 2016 Sierra’s job is to act as the ultimate luxurious truck offering. And the Denali trim particular should do just that.

Now, it’s time for you to voice your opinion. Vote in the poll below, and expand on your decision in the comments section. Is the 2016 GMC Sierra a looker? Or, is it a loser?

  2. I thought the current production Sierra looked nice. But this is better yet. Nice job GM.

  3. Have to say I like the Silverado better. I have never been a fan of the big gaping mouth style grille which now looks like every other truck coming at you down the road. At least you can tell a split grille Silverado on the road. Print off a pic of this grille, turn it upside down along side a pic of the F150 and you have the exact same grille shape; again they all look alike.

Also not a fan of the non-centered GMC logo with the larger grille spacing below it. Lastly, never been a fan of the deep cut fender style that tries to make it look like a fender flare.

It’s a very busy front end styling with a ton of angles, shapes, etc which is starting to look very front end heavy and out of proportion with the rest of the truck. The Silverado still has some curves and flowing lines instead of angular lines like the Sierra.

My choice is the Silverado update.

  4. Bumpers front and rear chrome. That upgrades a pickup. Chrome shine far superior to fiberglass and I would believe less expensive to repair.

  5. Since I have always owned GMC trucks , I like the GMC’s better than the Chevys . Both of them though are an improvement , but didn’t have a prob with the last design . Of the 3 GMC’s I like the SLT grill the best . That Denali grill looks huge to me . For the group that actually use their trucks as trucks , I wonder how the bumper covers are going to hold up .
