To be honest, this probably isn’t the car for someone seeking out a turn-key vintage cruiser. We think this car will sell merely because it has connections to heart-throb Ryan Gosling.
Our friends at AutoBlog found this particular 1966 Cadillac Eldorado, and it has connections back to Gosling’s directorial debut in Lost River. Gosling didn’t specifically pilot the car, though. A sir Matt Smith was the star in this elongated boat of a car, who is better known as the 11th doctor in the long running Doctor Who series.
About the quality of this car, though. It’s pretty beat up. The listing states most of the exterior and interior trim pieces will need to be reinstalled, and the actual body of the 1966 Eldorado needs more than a gallon of elbow grease. Other details remain vague. The eBay listing states the carburetor “might need to be rebuilt” and the radiator fan “might need to be replaced.” Really, it sounds like someone is hoping a couple of big-ticket name drops moves this car, rather than the car itself.
The good news? The 429 cubic-inch V8 purrs like a kitten. The seller is asking $4,000 currently, so scoop this classic Cadillac convertible up. You can pretend Mr. Gosling is riding shotgun with you as you cruise top down, and other imaginary scenarios… if you’re into that sort of thing.
