‘Ridin With Biden’ Movement Tries To Rope VP Into A Presidential Bid

As surprising as this may be for some, not everyone on the left hand side of the political spectrum is rooting for Hillary Clinton come 2016. Al Gore, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders all have their own fair share of followers.

And then, according to Corvette Blogger, there’s a group of Joe Biden supporters who would love for the Corvette-loving Vice President to toss his hat into the ring.

The “Draft Biden” movement even has its own bumper sticker, the image of which can be seen above. Accompanied by the text “I’m Ridin With Biden,” the image is a stylistic homage to President Barack Obama’s “Hope and Change” campaign posters from his first election, which shows Vice President Joe Biden behind the wheel of a Corvette C7 Stingray.

The still image itself was lifted from Biden’s cameo in the Julia Louis-Dreyfus video from the 2014 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, but even outside of the VP’s appearance there, he is a longtime fan of the Chevrolet Corvette. He owns a restored 1967 Corvette C2 big block, which occupies his garage back home in Delaware – though he rarely has the occasion to drive it.

Not that it’s our place to comment on politics, but at this point, Hillary’s victory in the Democratic primaries looks all but guaranteed. But with opposition from a dangerously cool mix of humanizing and catchy like the “I’m Ridin With Biden” draft movement bumper sticker, who knows? This movement might catch on pretty quick.

  1. Oh brother!

Lets worry less about that they drive but be concerned about what drives them.

  2. Oh, here comes Aaron Birch’s political propaganda machine under the guise of auto journalism.

Aaron, leave your left-wing political propaganda at home. We are not fooled by your every attempt to turn or twist mundane auto stories into pro-lefty politics.

P.S. Biden is a nut case that even Democrats are embarrassed by and try to hide. Oh, and he is almost 80 years old. Obviously somebody who probably should not be driving a car let alone being President.

    1. Anybody who puts this through a prism of a political agenda has irrational issues. If it was a Ted Cruz banner featuring a Corvette, we’d write about it, too.

  3. lol. This is 9 days too late… Oh wait.. you’re serious? There are probably worse choices.

Regarding Hillary’s supposed lock on the Democratic nomination, It’s WAAYY too early for any speculating for any presidential candidate. Obama was a dark horse in 2008, and surprised many. A mere 3 weeks is an eternity in political elections. We won’t get any idea until at least June of 2016. So much can happen between now and then.

Are you kidding me, Aaron?! You just DID!

Sorry, but I agree with others on here about you turning every one of your car articles into either an attack on Republicans or a pro-democrat commercial. Give it up, we are not fooled and you are going to drive readers from this site. If you are obsessed with politics (how sad), go work for a political site.

By the way, Hillary’s scandal-ridden poll numbers are so bad that the only thing she might win is the Dem anointment.

    1. I would like to point out that there is absolutely no expressed nor implied personal political view in this post. I happen to be against Hillary, not that this is at all a place appropriate for discussing such things.

  5. Would it be okay with you if this was a story about Jeb Bush? My guess is probably. No, definitely. And for Christ sakes, not every pro democrat story is an attack on republicans. Get over it. And quit it with the insults, subhuman.

Let’s not turn this place into GMI, a.k.a., a home for zealots and lying liars of one form or another, and spare us all the politics.

  6. Aaron you know soon as you put any political person on this page be them left right or upside down you knew what you were going to get.

If you are any awareness you should have expected this.

Politics like a hot stove will burn you every time you touch it.
