Yes, There’s An Entire Facebook Page Dedicated To Missing Holden Commodore Fuel Caps

You can find just about anything on the internet. A few years back, though, Facebook introduced the page feature, allowing users to “become a fan of” and then eventually, the verbiage was changed to “like.”

Thousands of pages filled our timelines, where we felt obligated to become a fan of “when you look in the fridge and see there’s no food, only to circle back and check again one minute later.” You know what we’re talking about here.

Filed amongst the pages, LSXtv found a real oddity, though. Apparently there’s a Facebook page entirely dedicated to Holden Commodores with their fuel caps missing. According to users on the page, it seems to be a rarity to find a Commodore variant with its fuel cap intact. Aussie users report the cars have a tendency to lose the caps for whatever the reason may be.

We’d like to reach out to our Australian readers. When’s the last time you saw a Commodore without a fuel flap? Talk to us down below.

  1. I saw one intact today when i filled up, there are a lot missing though as the little bastards of fuel thieves break them off when they siphon the fuel out of your car and seeing as Commodore is such a popular car brand here its all ways easy to spot a few missing around the place.

  3. See at least two intact every day, as my partner and the bloke in the unit behind us both have Commodores (he has a VZ and my partner has a VE), both of them completely intact. Pretty much every Commodore in the area we live in has an intact filler flap. Have to go into the poorer areas to see the ones which have them missing! Where I used to live there was someone who was always over the road with a VT that had one missing. Also, some WH-WL Statesmans and Caprices are known to be minus these flaps. They usually end up breaking off due to either a fault in the plastic or by closing it improperly (they have a bit of flex in them). The WH I had was one of the few around which still had the original one intact.

  4. They are prone to easily break off being made of plastic. We see a lot missing all over the place. A number of replacement caps stand out like the proverbial. Some owners go capless with others installing an unpainted grey or a cap from another car – different colour.
