Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, based in Decatur, Indiana, is one of the American mid-west’s most well-known aftermarket tuning shops. And it only makes sense then that it made an appearance at the region’s largest automotive exhibition, the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.
Multiple Lingenfelter-tuned Chevrolet products were on display at Chicago. The tuning shop’s booth is located directly next to the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Chevrolet Dealers’ special designated section and features a C7 Corvette and C7 Corvette Z06, the Silverado ‘Reaper’ and Ken Lingenfelter’s personal fifth-generation Camaro ZL1.
The various vehicles show off different Lingenfelter performance products. The C7 Corvette Stingray was the most heavily modified, with an Edelbrock E-Force TVS2300 supercharger, American Racing headers, a Corsa Performance cat-back exhaust and an attractive Lingenfelter trim package with a carbon-fiber hood intake. The car was also wearing Forgeline 3-piece VX3C wheels, a special ‘Ember Gold Pearl’ tri-coat paint job and Continental tires.
The Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort Automotive-built Chevrolet Silverado Reaper should attract attention from Chicago-area truck buyers during the public show. Designed to be a bowtie-badged answer to the Ford F-150 Raptor, the Reaper features 17-inch beadlock wheels with 33-inch off-road tires, a Fox Racing suspension, a high clearance off-road bumper with a reinforced skidplate and a floodlight system. Lingenfelter will also tune-up the 6.2-liter V8 engine to 550 horsepower with a 1.9-liter supercharger and Corsa exhaust system.
The Camaro ZL1 and C7 Corvette Z06 also featured different performance components installed by LPE, helping to boost the power output of both car’s respective supercharged V8s. The Z06 will likely draw the most interest, displaying Lingenfelter’s Stage 1 package for the supercar, which produces a not-so-mild 800 horsepower. Can you imagine what Stage 2 will bring?
If you’re planning on stopping by the Chicago Auto Show, be sure to pay Lingenfelter a visit. If you like what you see, Ken’s team would be happy to build you a Corvette, a Silverado Reaper, or whatever other American performance offering your heart desires.
