The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado has a new marketing advertisement touting its reliability and being the longest-lasting truck on the road. Like their owners, the Silverado is hardworking and dependable for everything its owners do.
Set against a backdrop of country sides and work projects, the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado family of trucks is cast as being just as reliable and hardworking as its owners. Accompanied by a Born Free anthem, the advertisement celebrates a bit of America, the working man and the truck. Interestingly, the advertisement doesn’t take any shots at other truck makers nor does it really talk about capability. It is makes you “feels good” commercial which shows what most people do with their trucks: weekend projects, light towing and driving the back roads.
However, it seems that only yesterday we were informing you of the Silverado’s “Strong” anthem ad. We’re not sure what happened, but it appears “Born Free” by Michigan local Kid Rock has shouldered the already well-received “Stong” anthem by Will Hoge. Possibly out of caution to not offend anybody tied closely to the “Boston Strong” collective, in wake of the Boston Marathon bombings. That said, the #SilveradoStrong hashtag seems to stick around.
Below is the video, upon watching it, let us know if the song is right on the money, or trying too hard to recapture the “Like a Rock” Bob Seger magic.

I still think that there is an opportunity to bring back “Like A Rock” for a special edition commercial of some sorts. Maybe for Super Bowl, or some other special event.
Like a rock was great but they need to find and make the next like a rock.
So far the Born Free is working well as can be in another room and I hear the song and it gets stuck in my head.
As for Kid Rock he is a Segar fan and friend and they are still both Michigan boys.
What would be interesting it to take Kid Rock and redo Like a Rock with both Him and Segar they have worked together before. A little something old and something new.
