New Spy Shots Of Full Size Cadillac ‘LTS’ Sedan Surface

With the recent news that Cadillac will unveil its ‘LTS’ sedan at the New York Auto Show next March, were expecting more and more information about the highly anticipated Omega-based S-Class competitor to start to slowly trickle out. Edmunds appears to be getting the ball rolling with all-new spy shots of the car showing more of its front end than we’ve ever seen before.

It appears as if the LTS has ditched some of the usual black cladding for these photos, with its grille poking through the camouflage. Some of the basic lines of the grille can be made out and it looks as though there is already a spot on it put aside for Cadillac’s new wreathless emblem. There are also new wheels which we’ve never seen before on any Cadillac products and quad exhaust tips. Everything else remains just how it was before, hidden under a layer of pesky padding.

Information surrounding the new LTS, if that is indeed what it will be called, is still extremely limited. An insider close to the project told Autoblog the car will “meet the challenge of the new Mercedes [S-Class],” which is high praise. Check out the photos at this link and let us know if you think Cadillac is on the right track so far with their new flagship.

  1. Great observation! I have not noticed the wheels until you said it. Those wheels look awesome by the looks of them.

  2. Looks pretty nice on the outside, I just hope the interior can hold it’s own against the new s-class

  3. Its soooooo low. This is going to be an awesome car. I’ll never afford a new one, but once they hit the used market, I am THERE.

    1. I think it’s sitting low due to weight testing; subjecting the car to extreme weight conditions to evaluate the limits of its handling and performance.

I wouldn’t expect the production LTS to sit as low, although it does look nice.

  4. As long as the Base Engine is the TTV6, the only other item I would like to see is a 10 Speed Auto Trans Baby!!!! 😉

  5. I just hope it isn’t a ATS & CTS clone. The small, medium and large scene won’t work for Cadillac.
Also, it’s time for Art & Science to evolve. The current incarnation hasn’t been a sales hit; Cadillac cars with Buick bodies may have sold better.

Seems as if American shoppers like to conform with BMW clones.

  6. GM will do something great in this car

    I’m very confident with it

  7. I think the styling will play better on a larger car.

It is low due to the added weight to the car for testing in the hot weather in California.

  8. Looks very promising, even under all the camo. For Cadillac to state that they’ll meet the challenge of the S-Class means this car must have a lot to offer! This car will prove once and for all if Cadillac can truly compete with the upper echelon of luxury elites! I too hope that the LTS is far more than just a full size CTS and with an insane price tag. It has to be in a league of its own; sharing little to nothing with other vehicles GM produce. The powertrain has to be new and exclusive; it has to be advanced and showcase the best GM has ever engineered. The technology has to at least to match what Cadillac likes showcase via the concept vehicles. No matter what the price is for the LTS; as long as every production dollar goes towards perfecting every detail of this car, the market will justify it. No holding back with value! This vehicle can practically market the Cadillac brand, if done right!!! It can also set a new standard for how Cadillac approach the production of every vehicle they produce ever after.

Do I think the LTS will match the dopamine rush that is the S-Class? Probably not. But I’m genuinely confident in Cadillac’s ability to produce a truly desirable luxury car!

    1. I’m thinking how the LTS should get:

3.2t V6 (VVT, SIDI, IVVL, and VTM) with 380HP and 395-410LB-FT
5.3t V8 (VVT, SIDI, AFM, and VTM) with 525HP and 535-550LB-FT
      8-Speed Automatic
      Active Grille Shutters

  9. The front looks like it was in an accident and fixed by a red neck with duct tape.

  10. Is the LTS going to be FWD or RWD ? Or maybe an AWD ? Being a Cadillac Owner (SRX) , I am so hoping GM is burning the midnight oil to get this launch right . All the leather , wood and brushed chrome won’t matter a bit if it comes out with recalls attached to it in the first few weeks of production . Also I to hope its not a stretched version of a CTS , give it the headlights of the Escalade and fiber optic wanna be taillamps , and hopefully on the interior something better than CUE (please) !
I think all of us car nuts are really hoping GM hits this baby out of the park !!!!!!!!

    1. The LTS will be loosely based off the CTS with styling similar to the Elmiraj concept in rear-wheel drive on the Omega Platform.

    2. You’d know if it was FWD, because if it was, I’d be outside Cadillac’s HQ with pitchforks and torches screaming for the head of the beancounter who made the decision to make a FWD flagship car, but fortunately that’s not the case.
