General Motors Receives 10,000 Orders For Boajun 730 In First 72 Hours On Sale

Not even an entire week after debuting the all-new Baojun 730 MPV, General Motors’ SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture has received more than 10,000 orders for the seven-seat family vehicle.

The automaker says the first 10,000 orders actually happened within 52 hours of the 730’s launch, with a new order coming in every 43 seconds for the first two days. The vehicle will officially be sold at the 2,600 Wuling and Baojun dealers across China when it arrives later this year.

The 730 replaces SAIC-GM-Wuling’s former practical people-mover, the successful Hong Guang MPV. It is offered with a variety of features and technologies, including an eight-inch color touch screen and a reverse camera system, and is powered by either a 1.5-liter or 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine.
