The Buick Achievers Scholarship, sponsored by the General Motors Foundation, began accepting applications January 6th and will continue to accept applications until 5 p.m. EST on February 28th. The scholarship is awarded to students who not only do extremely well in the classroom, but also help out to make a difference in their community. Qualified applicants must be from the U.S. or Puerto Rico and are either seniors in high school or current undergrad students looking to pursue a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (also known as STEM) or other fields related to the automotive industry.
This is the fourth year the Buick Achievers Scholarship will be presented. Created in 2011, the scholarship has awarded $16.5 million to students from all over the country. This year scholarships will be given to 100 qualified applicants. The scholarship is worth $25,000 a year and can be renewed up to four of five years, depending on the engineering program of the scholar.
