This new computer-generated video of the 2014 CTS seems to hit on all the right notes: it shows the awesome exterior, the luxurious cabin, and the new midsize sport-luxury sedan driving around some gorgeous mountain roads — all set to some riveting music. Watch it, then watch it again:
Did you notice the minuscule jewel element containing the Cadillac insignia in the profile of the taillamp at 1:21? Also, we would have loved to hear an engine/exhaust note accompany the driving scenes, but we’re not complaining.

I love this car. But enough of this computer generated video. Show the real thing with the real exhaust note whipping around the test tracks and roads.
Yeah. Just like the ATS ‘lameperiments’ ads, Cadillac seems to be reluctant to show us a video of their hardware in the flesh. You could be mistaken to think that Cadillac doesn’t have anything worth showing if they can’t even be bothered show us an ATS or a CTS at all.
I mean it could just be a giant hoax, and GM was joking all along. There was never going to be a mk3 CTS; it was only just a wooden model for the auto shows and a CG video. Fooled ya!
I agree with both of you here, they should use the actual car in this ad. Though if it was done in such a way, this would be a proper ad for this car.
True, but I want to go buy one right now after watching this.
After reading your commentary on this ad I went back and watched the video again a few times. I like this ad and the word “Cadillac” in the taillight that you mention is really cool, and may I say tasteful.
Guys — one thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t an “ad” so much as it is a video for the interwebs. Heck, since it’s the first video of the 2014 CTS from Caddy, we could call it “CTS Anthem”.
Saw this at the NY auto show. It’s just as beautiful live.
Good deal, Alex…lovely car for sure….this ad is starting to show Cadillac can do some things correctly…this must be only the beginning of some good things to come…..more please 🙂
Gee if they would have drug a Piano with this I may have better understood the suspension.
This was an early video but something similar to this could be edited down to a 60 second spot.
The fact is this is more the direction GM needs as also they took with the Impala spot. Sell image and sell elegance. Also explain the tech to people like they are adults not pre school.
GM has a big perception issue and they need to treat people like adults and not idiots even if they are.
I would have loved to seen this car on twisting roads and pull into a expensive club with people about 35 years old behind the wheel.
They also can play the safety cards like Benz to show how strong the car is and show a mother with a car seat and then show crash results.
You have to play on ego and emotions.
What a gem!!!
Looks too stately and old-folksy for me. Guess that’s the demographic they’re going for with this model though…
