Extensively Updated Buick LaCrosse Caught Testing In America

Despite a completely naked photo of the 2014 Buick LaCrosse circulating the Internet, the vehicle continues to test under heavy (plaid) camouflage (not pictured), doing its best to prevent any more slip ups before its official unveiling.

For the 2014 model year, expect a larger grille opening, complemented by a new LED headlamp design similar to what we see in the refreshed 2013 Enclave. The bigger story is the overhauled interior, which is expected to escalate the Buick flagship’s very premium feel, with a redesigned center stack featuring fewer buttons and a larger LED touchscreen (not unlike Cadillac CUE). But will it show its face during the Shanghai Motor Show, New York International Auto Show, or both? We’ll have to wait a little over a month and a half to find out. It will most definitely be shown in New York, and perhaps Shanghai.

  3. Right. GM needs to be *really* careful not to kill the LaCrosse (and the rest of Buick) with that new Impala. The LaCrosse should have several features not available on the Impala. One thing I’d like to see is a power tilt-telescoping steering column; the Hyundai Azera is available with one…

  4. My question is only: will this lifted Lacrosse be offered also worldwide under the Opel/Vauxhall brand?

Or shall it be limited to China and North America?

  5. My, what big eyes you have. Those huge lights and grille look good- I don’t like cars that squint at me like the Mustang does now. I hope they don’t change too much, I think it looks great as it is for that kind of car.

  6. Observer7, it certainly looks nice for the European market I suppose if it came would be positioned (Insignia, Le Crosse, Omega, VXR8) in the Vauxhall line up. It could be a sort of modern day Viceroy, Vauxhall over the years has sold many large saloons with biast to performance or luxary. (Carlton, Viceroy, Senator, Omega to name a few).

  7. Could be Vauxhall’s 4dr Coupe rival to Audi, BMW & VW offerings.

  8. Nicely done. I am still expecting a Voltec-powered Buick Electra!
