Cadillac Bids Farewell To Current-Generation CTS-V With Stealth Blue & Silver Frost Limited Edition Models

Cadillac shocked the world with the second-generation CTS-V. In short, it was a 556 horsepower missile aimed at BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Jaguar, and the like. If it had four doors, chances are it was slower than the sueded sledgehammer out of Michigan. And then came the coupe and wagon variants, turning Cadillac’s supercharged spear into a trident, thereby changing the way people thought of performance luxury passenger cars.

But since the all-new 2014 Cadillac CTS is set to preview this year, the end for four-year-old LSA-powered supercar family is nigh. Thankfully, the outgoing V is going out in style, as Cadillac has announced a duo of very-limited-edition Stealth Blue and Silver Frost variants.

First, the Stealth Blue Edition will be offered in all body styles — sedan, coupe, wagon, and even the standard CTS Coupe. The styling changes consist of a blacked-out grille with dark satin wheels, and an optional, and very sexy, Twilight Blue leather interior. Delicious.

For those who want a dash of more exclusivity, there’s the Silver Frost package. Available solely on the CTS-V Coupe, the paint is a low-gloss matte finish with the slightest of clearcoat layering. Only a hand-wash is recommended for this beauty, and only 100 of these CTS-V Coupes will be built.

Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but we can expect a decent markup from the base CTS-V models when these appearance packages hit the market.

  1. I hope this isn’t the end of the CTS Coupe, standard and V series. I love my CTS Coupe, there’s nothing like it on the road.

  2. I think they should have V series for the next CTS

    1. Pretty sure they will. The CTS is too important to Cadillac to not include the V. The V series itself has done wonders for Cadillac’s image anyway; GM would be stupid not to make a 3rd gen CTS-V.

Give it a model year though. Generally, the V cars arrive a full year after launch.

  3. Sorta have mixed feelings about the demise of the CTS-V Wagon

I have one of the Limited Edition 2011 Black Diamonds

It is a gorgeous, practical, beast of a car to the extent a single vehicle can be all of those

I am not particularly impressed with this swan song blue version as the line closer, but it certainly isn’t my call

    I’d continue making them

In any case, I guess the decision to discontinue the wagon will probably add to the rarity of the breed and, hopefully shorten the time I’ll have to wait to get my original purchase price back from some astute collector of classic cars, who will appreciate having one of the dozen or so special edition black wagons

Hope so cause I sure like the looks of that Ciel

  4. My 05 CTS was stealth gray, not a bad color. I might have to see this stealth blue in person before I pass judgement on it.
