Part of being a pickup truck is putting up with whatever gets thrown at you, in you, or on top of you. Regardless if it’s in the rain, sleet, snow, wind, and hail. That said, we can all relate to the Chevrolet Silverado some days. Hard work is what the United States is supposed to be about, right?
With hard work in mind, engineers have gone to make sure the 2014 Silverado doesn’t quit when below-zero-temperatures occur. As proof, the video below shows the new Chevy trucks going through some the gnarliest weather simulations imaginable inside GM’s Wind Tunnel testing facility. It’s probably safe to say that only a few of us will put these ‘beauts through such rough conditions, but should the occasion rise – the capability is there.

We just had a week of -40 here and I didn’t have to put plastic over the front of my STS lol
My 2014 Chev Silverado quit in the driveway at -30 C. Took 4 starts which barely ran to drive it in our garage. Drive my wife’s Ford Hybrid to work. Like the truck but not impressed with this. Strictly Coop gas only from the service station. Guess I better put in some gasoline antifreeze.
