Occasionally Hollywood celebrity stories trickle into the automotive realm when they somehow have to do with cars, most of the time. But only once every Mayan apocalypse is there one as loopy as what happened recently. Tim Allen — the advertising voice of Chevrolet, Michigan native, and car enthusiast — reportedly had his beloved 1996 Chevrolet Impala stolen by 32-year-old Faustino Ibarra on Thanksgiving.
Ibarra drove all the way from Los Angeles, Calif. to Denver, Colo. and may have gotten away with it if family members didn’t snitch to the authorities. He was arrested, and is currently being held without bond, and will be extradited back to California to face a range of charges which include grand theft auto and stalking.
Here’s where it gets weird, Ibarra claims that Buzz Lightyear Allen gave him permission to drive off with the Chevy sedan because some years back, Allen adopted him as his son. Um, what?
“I didn’t break into the garage, he let me into the garage, he opened the door for me,” Ibarra stated in a video news interview.
“I emailed my dad the morning I got the car and everything is fine… and we need to talk about me coming to live with you,” says Ibarra in the video. Ibarra also believes Tim Allen will not pursue charges. We’ll wait to see how this one pans out.

That is one story that really looks unbelievable. Hopefully they could track his car down and recover it without any problems.
