Congradulations! You’ve just won a FREE* iPad!!!11!1!1!!
It’s almost as if we’ve found ourselves in the shady part of the internet once again. Except when it comes to attaining a brand new Apple iPad, owners don’t need to sign up for a scam, they could simply buy a $44,995 2013 Cadillac XTS as it launches starting this month. The tablet will come with a Cadillac CUE App that enables shoppers to “test-drive” the system on the iPad whenever and wherever they so choose, as the CUE app replicates many of the controls and features of the CUE center stack. The app will allow XTS owners to better familiarize themselves with the auto industry’s first use of capacitive touch and familiar multi-touch gestures — which is a sexy feature in and of itself. We just can’t wait for the app store to launch.
In addition to the iPad, Cadillac stated in a press release that a total of 25 new Connected Customer Experts are being sent across the United States to support the launch of CUE. It will be the duty of these experts to provide a resource for in-car electronic technological training, sales and service assistance. Lastly, every Cadillac XTS and ATS buyer will receive a welcome call from a personal contact to answer questions and/or provide feedback.
Now, we would like to ask you: does the addition of an iPad sweeten the deal and add value to the purchase of the Cadillac XTS? Or does it come off as a stale gimmick? Sound off in the comment section below.

If they don’t make a huge deal about it and instead just hand it over as a pleasant surprise and act as if it’s just a minor gift then yea it’s probably a good idea.
Yes, if they make it a focus and main point its going to fail, bury it in the paperwork and maybe use it at a negotiation tactic, i.e customer says ill pay 44k, sellers like no the best is 45k, but ill also include a free ipad.
Hyundai tryed this gimmick not too long ago by offering an iPad as the owners manual coupled with the Equis it was getting too expensive for Hyundai to keep that up this should be bundled up with the platinum trim not any of the base models I think it’s fine just as long as GM doesn’t advertise getting a free iPad when you buy a shiny new caddy an iPad isn’t worth 40K
No they need better gimmicks like free oil changes for 100,000 miles or free insurance for a year.
I think its an excellent marketing technique, but disappointed that GM didn’t think of it first.
It doesn’t sound as much of a sales gimmic as it does a type of consumer training. Cadillac realizes that the only way CUE will be successful is that if people like it, and people don’t like what they don’t understand.
I think All of your comments has Good Merits behind them, though I’m not an Android/Apple FanBoy, I think they should have both iPad and Android Tablet which to me made Way more sense then locking into 1 EcoSystem, even the New Windows Tablet as well, now that would’ve been a 1st for sure!! I do like the other suggestions I read like the Maintenance Program for free for life or the Insurance program…….they should All be thrown in with No Hassles What So Ever!! I just got a Real Problem when a New Product Launch 1st Commercial is only 36 seconds long and the Only Innovations they show is the Safety Seats when they have Dozens of Remarkable Innovations/Segment Leading Hot Points and then the Only Car they can Compare it to is a C-Class Mercedes…….That Ain’t a Real Confidence Booster for me and makes me Question “Are they Really Behind This Car or what”??? What do you Think……..
They compare it to the E-Class, not the C-Class in the ad. The XTS is like this in-between car — not really full-size (even though it has full-size dimensions)… we may have discussed this before.
In regards to the iPad, it has nothing to do with an ecosystem or locking anything in. The iPad is meant to be a training tool containing CUE information and tutorials. It’s not about the platform or the technology, but rather what it’s meant for.
OK, C-Class or E-Class, what’s the Difference, my point is they shouldn’t be Comparing it to neither but showcasing the Extremely Great Tech in the car and as for the iPad being a Info hub….Fine…..but do the Same with Android cause when you make iPad exclusive, then others will see it as more then what you just explained and feel alienated and the object is to make Sells of the Vehicle, when they did the Remote Lock and Unlock App for the the Vehicles they did it for both Android and iPhone and I’m sure they are working on Windows, but again, the Real Issue is for them to get Firmly behind the XTS regardless whether it’s The FlagShip or a Stop Gap FlagShip, that way Future Customers will get into the Seats of the XTS and make the judgement for themselves!!!!! Thank You for your Reply Alex 🙂
good move GM, but Hynundia beat you to it. that said, Free Ipads and the like are the mark of true Luxury, as well as cutting edge tech. like some one else mentioned; it should be revealed to the buyer as an afterthought. “oh and don’t forget your Ipad Mr/Ms whoever, you’ll find it on the passenger seat”, “oh no there’s no mistake, it’s a standard accessory for ALL of our Cadillacs.”
that’s how you move yourself up in the realm of public perception. offer it as minor convience, you know, on behalf of GM.
Having ordered a 2013 Cadillac XTS mid July and took delivery Aug 26 2012 I am still waiting for my IPad that is to have come with the car as I expected.
Maybe it will come by mail, but I never got one as I understood from all the buildup on the internet.
A what !!! an iPad ??? Are you serious? I have been to every dealership in my area and studied this XTS thoroughly, and no one ever mentioned an pad. Hmmmm well kept secret, not a oh by the way. That is not the reason I would purchase this vehicle but that is a surprise to me. Maybe they keep them for themselves in this area.
