GM Windows Of Opportunity Concept Augments Backseat Travel

This is for anyone who ever as a kid rode in the back seat and pretended there was a little man running just outside the window next to them, jumping over fences and dodging trees in an effort to keep up with your mom’s crazy driving. Except now instead of using our imaginations, General Motors thinks its time we start experimenting with augmented reality. The imaginary man will have to find a new job.

Developed with the Bezalel School of Art and Design in Israel and titled “Windows of Opportunity,” the concept consists of four different apps projected onto the rear passenger windows. They range from drawing on colored fog, sharing messages with onlookers, interaction with other Window users, and projecting locations from roads all over the world, as if you were passing through them. Even the imaginary guy lives on in a unique app. Yay!
