Close your eyes and imagine watching a short video series with expecting men who had baby bellies. Now imagine Jane, an attractive prep-course teacher, who introduces the (expecting) men to the Astra GTC. Imagine the words, “If man could have a baby, it would definitely be a car. But not any car — the New Astra GTC. Man’s new Baby.”
Now stop imagining, open your eyes, and play the video below — because that’s exactly what the short skit contains.
The GM Authority Take
Well, this is rather… different. But its the episode’s “rather different”, perhaps even quirky, nature that makes it so amusing and entertaining. People will watch this series and — rather unknowingly — learn about the Astra GTC, while being entertained.
For instance, I’m sure that — after watching this clip — most will be walk away knowing about the car’s 20-inch alloy wheels… and some of the private interviews are simply hilarious. Bloody awesome, Opel. Great work!
Episode 2 is on its way. In the meantime, can you see something along the lines of this ad working for the American market? Sound off in the comments!

Way better than the Happy Grad ad, but obviously too long. Not sure it would translate as well into a 30 second spot. At least this was entertaining.
That’s the thing, it’s an internet advert, thus not constraned by 30 or 60 second time slots as dictated by television networks.
As such, you can pitch the ad at people who seldom watch TV anymore (like myself) and can therefore put their interest into watching a 5 minute advert that weaves in a story that couldn’t be depicted in 30 seconds.
Guys getting knocked up just a side effect of direct injection.
ahahha this is just great!
