Cadillac has always been a blue chip player in the niche — yet important — limousine segment. The same can be said for the brand when it comes to the “black car” segment, or what you may know as vehicles taylored to feature extended wheelbases that pick up jet setters from airports. But with the nixing of the DTS, Cadillac has been left with a void to fill.
Being that the upcoming first-ever XTS will replace the *ahem* more traditional DTS sedan, it would only make sense for the model to wear every hat that its predecessor has left behind. The Wreath and Crest plans to spec out the black car models with all of the appointments and amenities featured in the model that will be sold on dealer lots. In doing so, Cadillac hopes passengers — who may very well be in the market for a new luxury sedan — take notice, and consider the car as they would first-tier luxury models from Germany.
