Chevrolet Celebrates 100 Years Of Racing History With Centennial Edition Corvette

You’re probably well aware now that 2011 marks the cenntenial for Chevrolet. If not, then you’ve come to the right place. In celebratory fashion, the Bowtie will release a limited run of 2012 Corvettes that pay homage not just to 100 years of Chevrolet, but 100 years of Chevrolet racing.

Enter the Corvette Centennial Edition, an imposing black-on-black-on-black machine that will be availible for every variant from the basic Coupe to the almighty ZR1.

While the Corvette Cenntenial Edition features no mechanical differences from its more basic family members, other than the option of a magnetic ride suspension system for all models, its red brake calipers, “Carbon Flash” paint and unique badging and stitching featuring the likeness of Louis Chevrolet himself will make it easy to spot this decked-out Corvette from the heard.

The first Centennial Edition Corvette will be auctioned in Z06 flavor during the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction. Something tells us that Rick Hendrick will be the buyer.
