2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition Celebrates 50 Years Of Everyone’s Favorite Toy Car

We heard whispers of a new Camaro Hot Wheels edition, but Chevrolet made the car official today as it took the wraps off of the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition. Not only can customers opt for the package on standard Camaro trims, but Chevrolet will offer the Hot Wheels-inspired design on the 2018 COPO Camaro as well.

We know what you’re thinking: “Is this special edition finished in iconic Hugger Orange?” The answer is no, but it’s quite similar. Chevrolet calls the color “Crush,” a nod to Hot Wheels’ iconic orange race tracks. Stripes finished in Satin Graphite and Silver Ice Metallic accents stretch across the 2018 Camaro Hot Wheels edition and Hot Wheels-inspired, 20-inch wheels sit at each corner of the car.

Elsewhere, Chevy graced the Camaro Hot Wheels edition with black bowtie badges and Hot Wheels emblems to accent darker taillights, orange brake calipers and Satin Graphite ground effects.

Inside, the orange hues are aplenty as well. The brand finished the seatbelts and kneepads on the doors in orange, while orange color-contrast stitching and inserts break up the Jet Black interior.

As for the 2018 COPO Camaro, buyers may also select the Hot Wheels edition package for their drag racers. Chevrolet will show the 2018 COPO Camaro at the 2017 SEMA Show and provide more details about its latest update: a 302 cubic inch small-block V8 engine.

The brand will offer the Hot Wheels package on 2LT and 2SS trimmed Camaros for $4,995 when it goes on sale in Spring 2018. The car also marks Hot Wheels’ 50th anniversary. In 1968, Mattel chose the 1968 Camaro as one of the first toy cars for distribution. Perhaps collectors will one day seek out the 2018 Camaro Hot Wheels edition much like the rare Camaro Hot Wheels of yore.

  1. I think I’m in love! The Gen5 Hot Wheels Camaro was very cool, but this one is even sweeter! Might need to cash in my GM Card points!
