2017 Cadillac ATS-V Meets Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio: Video

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde has been making splashes and headlines since its reveal and launch. But, it’s a newcomer to the sport sedan segment, and there are plenty of dominant players.

That includes the 2017 Cadillac ATS-V, which has been heralded as one of the best sport sedans currently on the market, despite being down on luxurious touches. There’s no denying the sublime Alpha platform.

So, Motor Trend put together a four-way Head2Head to settle which sport sedan is the best of the best. However, the show is called “Head2Head”, which mean two vehicles faced elimination to meet the handsome Giulia QV.

Unfortunately, the Cadillac didn’t make the cut after the BMW M3 Competition Package received much praise for fixing many of the problems associated with the F80 M3 in general.   1. It would be interesting to see the “as tested” price for the ATS-V, M3 competition and the Alfa. They do note that the ATS-v is still the best handling and driving in the class, the others just now have more power. I think the Alfa winning is just a case of being the shiny new car that hasn’t been seen before. Looking at one at the autoshow this weekend, I was pretty unimpressed with the styling, it looks like a cat with a smashed face.

      I haven’t seen the Alfa one yet, but The ATS-v got a very close 3rd here due to things like interior styling and back seat space. LIKE I SAID, it was the superior handling and driving car in its class. Interior styling, rear seat comfort, trunk space etc are why it lost, not the performance aspect. I swear, some of you don’t even read before you comment or thumbs down something.

  3. Whatever. I still think the Alfa is way overpriced like the rest of their line. Drive it through a few salt/rust belt winters, and let’s see what’s left.

  4. Alfa Romeos have been galvanised since 1994 so comment on rust is way out of date. The new Alfa Giulia is a serious new competitor in the saloon car market both in Europe where its already selling well and in the US.
