Ricky Taylor will drive for Larbre Competition in their No. 50 GTE Am Corvette C7.R for the next three rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the French team has confirmed.
Sportscar365 first tipped Taylor to take the Larbre Drive back in July, however it was officially confirmed by Larbre and team principal Jack Leconte late last week. The Wayne Taylor Racing regular has previously driven for Larbre at the 2013 and 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Taylor will drive the No. 50 entry alongside Pierre Ragues and Yutaka Yamagishi in the upcoming races at Mexico City, Circuit of The Americas and Fuji Speedway. The 27-year old will likely pull double-duty at COTA, driving the No. 10 Konica Minolta Corvette DP for WTR in the weekend’s IMSA race at COTA as well.
“I am very excited to join Larbre for these three rounds of the WEC championship,” Taylor said in a statement. “The team has proven its great pace this season by clinching good results. I am looking forward to supporting the squad to more success and to do my part to contribute to some points for the championship for Pierre, Yutaka and the team.
“I have enjoyed my other experiences with the outfit so it will be a nice experience to be back. Thanks to Jack and Larbre again for thinking of me and giving me the opportunity to fly their colors again.”
