Cadillac Adds Carbon Black Package To 2017 ATS Sedan And Coupe

The 2017 Cadillac ATS will receive a new Carbon Black Package, according to a June 6th update to GM vehicle order guides.

Available on certain trim levels of the 2017 Cadillac ATS Sedan and 2017 Cadillac ATS Coupe (as outlined below), the new Carbon Black Package includes:

  • Recaro performance seats (W2E)
  • Black chrome grille (TSA)
  • Dark finish exterior content, including gloss Black DLO window molding and Black chrome rear fascia applique (BC9)
  • Rear spoiler (D52)
  • 18″ After Midnight dark finish alloy wheels (PXG)

The package is assigned GM RPO code A7A and requires:

Interior color

  • Light Platinum with Jet Black accents (HOF) or
  • Jet Black with Jet Black accents (HOH)

Exterior color

  • Crystal White Tricoat (G1W) or
  • Red Obsession Tintcoat (G7E) or
  • Phantom Gray Metallic (G7Q) or
  • Black Raven (GBA)

The Carbon Black Package is available on the following ATS engine configurations and trim levels:

2.0L Turbo LTG RWD Luxury 1SE
2.0L Turbo LTG AWD Luxury 1SF

2017 Cadillac ATS Coupe Black Carbon Package Availability

The ATS Carbon Black Package is not available with

  • Black Sport Appearance Package (PDY, LPO)
  • 6-speed manual transmission (M3L)
  • Any other wheels except for the PXG units included in the package

We should note that, from the looks of it, the ATS Carbon Black Package replaces the ATS Black Chrome package, which was announced in March. As such, we expect that vehicles equipped with the Carbon Black package will look similar to those with the Black Chrome package, with the exception of not having body-colored door handles while adding the rear spoiler and Recaro performance seats, two features that the Black Chrome models didn’t have.

Detailed information can be found in the Cadillac ATS order guides:

The ATS Carbon Black Package joins a similar package on the 2017 Cadillac CTS, aptly named CTS Carbon Black Package.

  1. When will the 2017 be available to order?

    Reply
    1. In the July-August-September period; it’s a broad timeframe but there are a lot of things at play there. That said, the ordering isn’t as important as if the dealer has allocation from GM-Cadillac — the ability to place the order *and* have it filled. This shouldn’t be a problem for non-constrained vehicles such as the ATS, but is sometimes an issue for more limited-quantity vehicles like the Vs.
