Holden Releases Official Teaser For 2016 Commodore Series II

Holden has just released its first official teaser for the 2016 Commodore Series II, which will officially debut on September 13th, saying that the vehicle has been 37 years in the making and is a culmination of what makes a Commodore, a Commodore. The tagline accompanying the teaser image reads Hearing Is Believing — a fitting slogan, seeing that the design of the 2016 Commodore Series II will follow what the Series II nameplate stands for: evolution, rather than revolution.

The Commodore Series II will be historic in Australian automotive history. Not because of its performance, power, design, or the rumored LS9-powered HSV variants. Nay, the 2016 Commodore will stamp its place in history books because it will be the last Commodore manufactured in Australia. Ever.

Stay tuned for additional information as we approach the September 13th reveal date. But for now, remember this moment as our first look at Australia’s last homegrown Commodore.

  2. Judging by this teaser photo of the 2016 Commodore Series II, it appears as though Holden is slightly incorporating the last gen headlight design. It actually looks better! Can’t wait to see all the updates that are in store….

The Commodore/SS will be missed! With all the rumors swirling around about a possible LS9-powered HSV going around, I’m more excited than ever for this car! The Commodore/SS is too good to let fade off in the distance! Let it go out with a bang! I hope GM brings the LS9-powered car to past, The Charger Hellcat needs some good competition!

  3. Invert the colors of the teaser image in Photoshop (or whatever image editing software you prefer). It reveals some details. Front bumper, specifically the area around the LEDs, looks more aggressive, more HSV-like.
