For those wanting more from their late-model Cadillac CTS-V, D3 offers 3 stages of camshaft upgrades for the LSA supercharged V8 engine of the 2009-2015 Cadillac CTS-V. They are built to order, which means they can be manufactured specifically for your vehicle, maximizing performance and efficiency. The camshafts are built here in the United States, and D3 states they are “quality checked” to the nearest 10 millionth of an inch.
The ‘Stage 1’ camshaft is what D3 calls the ‘Street’ cam. According to D3, it has a “slightly more aggressive bite over the factory ZR1 cam,” and it yields up to 15 more ponies. D3 says the Street cam is perfect for those running higher than stock boost levels. After that is the ‘Stage 2’, aka “Tuner” cam, these require high performance lifters and valves for proper usage. This cam was designed for those running more than 1 bar of boost, which is roughly 14-15 psi, and allows a 25 horsepower gain. Lastly, ‘Stage 3’ or the “Competition” camshaft, which is the same camshaft D3 uses in their 1200+ horsepower race car. This camshaft showed gains as high as 40 horsepower, though it does require a fully built head or the equivalent to D3’s Competition Head Package.
Prices will vary, since the camshafts are built to order. If you’re interested in a quote, or simply want to find out more, you can visit D3’s website here.
