We’re used to seeing Camaros and Mustangs in IHRA and NHRA competition, which is why we love Dina Parise’s new Pro Mod Cadillac CTS-V she’s set to unveil at this year’s IHRA Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series Southern Nationals in Bradenton, Florida.
According to Drag Racing Online, Parise once ice skated professionally for Ice Capades, but has more recently turned her attention to drag racing. Her husband Andrew built a 1967 Camaro with a full roll cage and was going to build a Pro Mod car from it, but eventually bought the Cadillac after her mechanic offered it up.
“One day Rob Matheis of Rob Matheis Race Cars Inc. rang our phone and offered something a little different. Early last year, Rob approached us and said, ‘I have a Cadillac body and it seems like it would suit you.’ We weren’t in the market for a new car, but we were able to work things out where we could get the car built,” Parise told Drag Racing Online. “We’ve taken it out testing and I made some changes. We’re going to run the Nitro Jam series and Bradenton will be our first race.”
Keep an eye out for Parise and her shiny red Cadillac when Nitro Jam kicks off in Bradenton on April 17 and 18.
