You may be aware that Cadillac is currently developing a large, rear-wheel drive flagship sedan, which is going to utilize its upcoming Omega architecture. We know very little about this vehicle, other than the fact that it will be a direct competitor to other big luxury sedans such as the BMW 7-series and Mercedes-Benz S Class.
We’ve already seen spy shots of the full-size sedan, which is being referred to internally as LTS, but now thanks to the spy photo experts at KGP Photography, we have a video of it in action, too. Even more interesting is the model in the video appears to be in Vsport guise, with quad exhaust tips, larger, sportier rims shod in high performance rubber and a more agressive front fascia, though its hard to tell through the still very heavy camouflage.
You may be thinking to yourself that the CTS-V and ATS-V prototypes which have been spied have had quad exhaust tips, so this is probably an LTS-V or something of the sort. However those models appear extremely aggressive and are very obviously the most high performance variations of the cars, whereas this doesn’t give off quite the same vibe. It could be done on purpose to fool us, but we’re confident this is a lesser model variation, possibly hiding the same 420 horsepower, twin-turbocharged V6 engine from the CTS Vsport under its hood. It’s too early to say which model this is for sure, so feel free to speculate for yourself after viewing the video below.

Cadillac Elmiraj is powered by a 4.5-liter twin turbocharged V8 delivering an estimated 500 hp. The engine takes the baseline technology from the new Cadillac Twin Turbo V6 featured in the upcoming 420-hp 2014 CTS V sport edition, and expands it to the classic performance format of a V8 engine. So this is a Cadillac LTS V Sport with 4.5 V8
The Elmiraj was just a concept. And while the LTS will take styling cues from it, it’s not a production version of the Elmiraj, so it most likely will not have the 4.5L V8

The Elmiraj was a concept. It was also a coupe, in contrast to all the pre-production LTS photos which show a sedan in camo.
As for the engine, proof or I don’t believe you.
In order to compete with its main rival (S Class), the base engine should be the 3.6tt to go right in line with the S550. That should be the volume engine. Plenty off power and technologically advanced. Then offer the 6.2 supercharged from the new Z06 or twin turbocharged to compete with the S63 amg. That’s all I see as necessary. Should be a good vehicle no matter what though.
Well it is too early to argue engines yet.
It is a given that the car will see a NA V6 and TT V6 as this is a no brainer.
Now we know the show car had a Turbo V8 and word is GM has a TT V8 being developed. So based on these two items I would not be surprised to see a NA V8 and a possible SC V8 and I would not be shocked to see a TT V8.
Cadillac is trying to set their powertrains apart from Chevy and a Option on a Turbo would give them an edge on being different. Also it would give them a wide and flat torque band.
No matter what we at some point will see a potent V8 that will be near 700 HP in this car.
The one thing that the Cadillac has the Corvette does not have is more under hood room for a TT system and the ability to deal better with the heat. The Turbo would better fit the Euro strategy and as long as it is fast as stink here few will care which one.
I really want to see the interior. If Is as good as the ELR Interior it should be amazing. This is one area Cadillac is really pulling ahead in over the others. Once they apply it to the other cars we should be the class leader with interiors.

To really make the LTS a competitive car, the base engine should be the 3.6L twin-turbo V6 no doubt. An LTS Vsport with the 4.5L twin-turbo V8 would compete with the S550, and then the LTS-V with the 6.2L supercharged LT4 V8 would compete with the S63 AMG. The S65 AMG is way too expensive for what it is, and nobody buys it.
I think General Motors should turbocharged its 5.3L to make 530HP and 535-550LB-FT for the V-Sport while the V gets a 6.2L SC V8 outputting 625HP and 640-650LB-FT. The base engine has to competitive so I say a turbocharged 4.3L V6 making 385HP and 390-405LB-FT.
Seeing as CTS has a 2.0T base, I wouldn’t be surprised to see LTS with a 3.6 NA base, 3.6TT on the volume model, and hopefully at least a LT1 on the premium model. Not gonna happen but be cool if V-Sport was LT4 and V was (making stuff up here; LT7)
I am very glad to see that this model is on the horizon as some people need this car for fleet business and physical ergonomics for some.
I have a friend who is keeping her car which is the last model full size because Cadillac didn’t seem to be making another such size model (DTS). When she looked at the present full sized model, she didn’t like the fact its trunk was too small for travel and her size, it wasn’t comfortable.
