Ad Break: Buick Verano Takes To The Market

Ever heard of the Asian delicacy dragon fruit? If so, you have great taste — as “famous chef” Ted Allen briefly communicates mentions to the couple at the market.

The ad comes to an end with the following tagline: “Unexpected pleasures are the best part of life. Why not drive one every day?”

The GM Authority Take

A very good branding piece. Notice how the actors are somewhat “young-looking” and the overall flow of the clip is tasteful? It’s all just a part of Buick’s effort to change that somewhat negative public perception of the brand and its products being for the elderly.

  3. This ad grates on me because Ted is a food critic and TV host. He is NOT a famous chef. Every time I see the ad — especially on the food channel — I want to throw up. No way does it give me any impetus to check out the Buick.
