Ever heard of the Asian delicacy dragon fruit? If so, you have great taste — as “famous chef” Ted Allen briefly communicates mentions to the couple at the market.
The ad comes to an end with the following tagline: “Unexpected pleasures are the best part of life. Why not drive one every day?”
The GM Authority Take
A very good branding piece. Notice how the actors are somewhat “young-looking” and the overall flow of the clip is tasteful? It’s all just a part of Buick’s effort to change that somewhat negative public perception of the brand and its products being for the elderly.

Dragon fruit are the bomb!!
Alex, these Verano ads are super…..very clever and well-done….I think people are catching on to this nice car……
This ad grates on me because Ted is a food critic and TV host. He is NOT a famous chef. Every time I see the ad — especially on the food channel — I want to throw up. No way does it give me any impetus to check out the Buick.
